We are looking for maternity cover for our Defence Digital Account Manager, to work in a team of Account Managers, a Customer Solutions and Strategy Manager and a Head of Campaigns and Programmes. The team has a wealth of practical knowledge and are always keen to share best practice and thoughts for improvements. We have a rapidly growing business with Defence Digital and need to find a candidate to cover this customer while our current Account Manager is on maternity leave. The ideal candidate will take over the in-flight projects and also be able to generate and close new business development opportunities while in role.

The Customer Solutions team is a collaborative team, who utilises the skills and ability within the wider company. It is important that we are able to build and maintain an excellent relationship within other departments to ensure all of our goals and processes are streamlined to achieve successful completion of a project or programme, whilst maintaining the highest industry standard.

Within the team, our main focus is business winning, business development and building healthy rapport with our internal and external customers globally. We build exceptional strategies, campaigns and products to assist our customers and end users within the Digital space.

What you will be doing?
  • Ability to operate at senior levels (Director +) within a client; be credible enough to lead client engagements and be the client's main point of contact into BAE DI.
  • Ability to build long term, trusted relationships with senior clients (Director +) in order to build pipelines of work, and maximize on sell likelihood.
  • Leads and motivates delivery teams who will report into the Account Manager for the duration of the client project. Day-to-day delivery responsibility may be delegated to a Service Delivery Manager or Project Manager on larger projects.
  • Develop and execute Account Plans for the account(s) under management, identifying account development opportunities, target functions/departments or "fields of play" stakeholder contact plans and developing sales and account development campaigns.
  • Understand client needs and develop solutions/value propositions to meet these needs. Work with client to shape solutions and opportunities in advance of formal procurements. Build a platform for growth by identifying new client contacts, securing and leading sales meeting with new contacts and co-ordinating subject matter expert input in support of these meetings.
  • Ability to lead and co-ordinate a bid team, providing business development input on competitive positioning, client value proposition, win themes, price to win and commercial positioning. Co-ordinate subject matter input from bid team colleagues and shape into a business winning propositions to the client. This area of responsibility may be delegated to a bid manager on larger opportunities. In this case the account manager still provides the sales input to the bid but the co-ordination and "project management" of the bid will be done by a bid manager.
  • Monitor framework opportunities and evaluate and qualify opportunities based on winnability
  • Provide forecasting and business planning input to the Account Director/Sector Lead or Operations Manager
