Your new role
Your official title will be Senior IT and Security Infrastructure Officer, but the council is looking for a strong Infrastructure Engineer who is interested in developing their Cyber Security skills and to help you progress within this department. You will be providing specialist support to the Council's Infrastructure and Systems ensuring that they are able to run smoothly and effectively.

You will manage and contribute to the development and implementation of the Councils Security Architecture from end user devices to the core Infrastructure system. You will be offered the opportunity to continuously develop and learn new technologies to allow you to offer support and advice within multiple departments.

You will be playing a key part in identifying problems and offering a technical solution to resolve the more complex problems which may arise within the system or Infrastructure team.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed within this role, you will need to an understanding of some of the different aspects within cyber security and have a background within Infrastructure (Helpdesk/Engineer).Having a qualification in Cyber would be advantageous but not essential.

You must have a good understanding of IT systems either from a Cyber or Infrastructure perspective and it would be advantageous if you have experience dealing with CISCO, HP Network or Microsoft Azure. You must be confident and experienced within an IT Infrastructure environment, but you are looking to further develop your career within Cyber Security.

Having experience within a Local Authority and having experience managing the Public Sector Network is advantageous but not essential. For this role you do not need to be an established Cyber Security Engineer but having the relevant experience, Knowledge and the drive to progress your skills would be essential when proceeding with this role.
