We are currently seeking an experienced Customer Field Service Engineering professional to join our teams in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, UK. Collins Aerospace UK Simulation & Training Solutions (STS) provides solutions to the most complex simulation and training challenges for a variety of military & commercial customers around the world.

The role requires an experienced Customer Field Service Engineering professional to i
nstall, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment and to provide technical support to field engineers, technicians and product support who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment.
  • Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion.
  • Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems to design engineering.
  • Involved in planning and preparing customer installation and training.
  • Prepare on-site installation drawings where modifications have been performed.
  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Frequent internal company and external contacts.
  • Represents organisation on specific projects.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Contributes to the completion of organisational projects and goals.
  • Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure or resources to rectify.
  • Frequent use of general/technical knowledge and industry/functional practices, techniques, and standards.
  • General application of concepts, and principles.
  • Developing professional expertise.
Basic Qualifications:

Able and willing to drive internationally with a clean driving record
Adequate written and communication skills to be able to provide training and communicate with customers and colleagues.
Able to fabricate, modify or assemble low level commercial mechanical platform structures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Apprenticeship or vocational studies in mechanical/fabrication engineering.

Capability of assembling, installing and commissioning large scale Film mirrors.
Capability of assembling, installing and commissioning large scale Glass Reinforced Plastic and composite display surfaces.
