Role description

Junior Database Engineer implements, test and configures code based on traditional RDBMS and Big Data approaches to deliver data driven projects and solutions. Junior Database Engineer analyses requirements and design and understands how data is used, manipulated and processed, and combines these skills to create innovative solutions to business problems.

Your profile

You will join Database team focused on software delivery of an advanced telecomms data processing solution. The team is responsible for development of new database features and support of existing solutions. The team collaborates with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance, System Consultants and Service Delivery Managers across the world.

You should be able to learn fast and function effectively after initial product training, with limited oversight and guidance from senior team members.

Required skills:
• Awareness of RDBMS solutions, especially MS SQL Server; Elasticsearch and Oracle would be an advantage

• Proficiency with SQL querying
• Working experience with T-SQL code development
• Knowledge of database design
• Understanding the importance of code tuning and queries optimization

• Ability to use source control tools

• Knowledge of database administration would be an advantage
