The Role

The role will be working in the UK Cyber Security practice within Connected Technology - Technology Risk. Our clients are increasingly under cyber-attack and regulatory scrutiny to demonstrate effective management of cyber risk. Our specialists provide independent, jargon free advice and advanced technical capabilities to help our clients proactively manage cyber and technology risks to drive value from their business information assets whilst protecting business.

Our cyber security services are defined within four capability groups:

We provide cyber security services to clients across four coverage groups:
- Financial Services
- Corporates
- National Markets
- Infrastructure, Government and Health

This is a Director role to lead our Cloud Security service line focused on our Financial Services (FS) clients. As a Director you will have the opportunity to drive the cloud security services and a key emphasis will be on the delivery of these engagements to clients.

The Director role covers three key areas (Market Focus, Issues Led and Culture & Motivation):
- Lead the enhancement and development of a cloud security strategy for the UK across all coverage groups by working in collaboration with other members of the Cyber Security and cloud transformation teams and our alliance partners. This will include defining the vision, objectives and plan and oversee the implementation of this.
- Develop and maintain new cloud security propositions and methodologies to drive and meet market demand and clients' issues. This will primarily be focused on the FS market and will consider the requirements for other coverage groups so this can be leveraged across the UK Cyber Security practice. Ensure that all assets are maintained in the format required by Powered where appropriate and align business development activities with the Powered sales teams.
- Build relationships with other parts of the firm (e.g. Cloud Transformation, Cloud Engineering, Technology Risk) to bind offerings together.
- Lead our relationships with cloud alliance partners to drive collaboration and sales opportunities.
- Lead and maintain our people capability by managing and developing the technical skills of the team and growing our team.

In FS:
- Originate and lead on cloud security sales opportunities.
- Develop relationships internally and externally and build a pipeline of opportunities and/or sell engagements to clients.
- Lead the delivery of cloud security engagements.
- Define the people requirements (e.g. skills, experience, etc.) to strengthen our team of cloud security resources and lead the recruitment of these resources.
Reporting to the Lead Cyber Security Partner for FS the Director role involves:
- Taking accountability for the delivery of FS cloud security engagements and leading multiple engagements on a day to day basis with the assistance of Senior Managers/Managers in the team.
- Being responsible for expanding our cloud security services in the FS sector.
- Providing leadership and collaborating with people across the coverage groups on the cloud security service line to deliver a clear and unified strategy.
- Leading FS sales origination/business development initiatives and acting as an integral part of the broader Technology and Cyber Security leadership team.
- Contributing to the overall FS cyber security strategy by identifying where there are opportunities for growth and developing the strategy to capitalise on cyber security risk opportunities in this sector.
- Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CRO, COO, CISO or Head of Technology level) across a range of FS organisations.
- Actively identifying and progressing FS business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as responding to RFPs, bid management, proposal writing and client presentations.
- Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG.
- Coaching and developing team members as part of our overall performance management process or on specific engagements.
- Contributing to practice management e.g. training, knowledge management, thought leadership, etc.
- Travelling in the UK to regional offices and in particular regularly attending the Canary Wharf offices; and travelling in the UK or internationally supporting client delivery where required. This expectation will align with government and firm policy on Covid-19 working arrangements.
- Acting in line with KPMG's values at all times.
- Agree with the Lead Partner accountable for cloud security which parts of the above activities are to be delivered in other coverage groups by the FS Cloud Security Director versus other Directors.

The Person
- Batchelor degree qualification (or equivalent)
- MBA or Master degree - or equivalent (Desirable).
- Experience of working in the Financial Services sector including working with large, global organisations.
- Experience of working at the senior level as a cloud security lead and consultant.
- Commercially aware and with industry relationships that will enable achievement of revenue in the region of £1.5+ million per year.
- Wide industry exposure with a depth of technical security knowledge and experience in cloud security.
- Experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment facing clients in the FS sector; with a particular focus on technology, cyber security and privacy relevant regulations.
