Your new company
Hays Cyber are currently on the lookout for an established Security Architect with experience creating, assessing, and implementing security processes across a variety of IT projects and programmes.

This role is to work with a vital piece of critical infrastructure based in West Yorkshire in order to map out the future of their security processes, applications and systems, and to aid in the definition of security best practices, whilst being active in the embedding and acceptance of these practices.

The role has a relaxed hybrid approach, requiring on-site attendance for workshops, design processes and vendor presentations. Our critical infrastructure client is looking to enhance its current security infrastructure, and is looking for security architects to help implement industry best practice and develop a longer-term roadmap.

Your new role

  • Creating High- and Low-Level Designs to enhance the current and future organisational security of this critical infrastructure client
  • Supporting the Security Architecture Lead
  • Involved in making sure that developers are considering security procedures and the organisation's security strategy at the design phase and throughout
  • Defining security best practices, using them to design and implement solutions with the view of reducing risk and increasing widespread adoption of organisational security strategy
  • Overseeing implementation projects and ensuring all involved are adhering to best practice security strategies
  • Being conscious of contemporary developments in security architecture
  • Devising ways to properly embed security best practice within the organisation - education, awareness, implementation
  • Liaising with external and internal stakeholders and ensuring a security and risk focused culture is fostered across the business
  • Acting as an SME across security, governance, risk and compliance, overseeing various technical and non-technical works and ensuring that security is adhered to in line with architectural roadmaps, industry best practice and current organisational risk posture and strategies.
  • Gathering requirements and implementing strategies based on your findings

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience as a security architect is essential, public sector or critical infrastructure experience would be beneficial
  • Experience embedding security awareness practices and strategies in order to enhance organisational security maturity.
  • Relationship building and maintenance skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in Security Architecture, preferably within large, complex organisations
  • Any relevant industry certifications: BCS, TOGAF, CISSP or similar.

What you'll get in return

In addition to a salary around £90,000 (negotiable), you can look forward to the following benefits and more:

  • Car allowance
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Generous Pension Scheme
  • Flexible working arrangements
