Job Title: Finance Apprentice Treasury & Contracts-To-Cash (CTC) Apprentice

Location(s): Harlow. Hybrid Working. Travel to site as per business requirements
Duration: Permanent
Apprenticeship: Study Kaplan CIMA qualification in addition to on-the-job training with study time/leave.

Summary of Role:

The UK Treasury team plays a pivotal role within the Raytheon UK finance function.
This involves the management of cash and financial risks. Its priority is to ensure the company has the funds it needs manage day-to-day business obligations, while also monitoring foreign exchange risk.

This role provides the opportunity to assist the Treasury Manager in the Treasury and CTC functions. You'll receive support and full training to help develop new processes and controls which will have a significant impact on the operations of the business.

This is a broad role that will be pivotal in all Treasury and CTC within the organisation.
With full support, the role will provide in depth insight into cash management, foreign exchange, risk management an all aspects of CTC including billing and contract setup
There will be extensive exposure to both domestic and international stakeholders.

Although full training will be provided, the successful individual will be expected to work on their own initiative, being proactive as well as having a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to learn.

Candidates will need a thorough and diligent work approach, an analytical focus and exemplary communication skills to support the Treasury Manager, Treasury Analyst, Financial Controller, and the U.S based CTC team.

Raytheon is an advocate of continuous improvement with the goal of training all its employees. The person who is appointed in this role will use this training to streamline reporting and drive efficiencies.

You will receive both on and off the job training to support you towards achieving your fully funded CIMA qualification with time off allocated towards study and exams.

Main Duties:

This role supports the Treasury Manager and Treasury Analyst with all treasury queries raised by the business.

You'll assist with the following:
  • Funding and FX management. Foreign currency management for weekly payments and monthly intercompany runs including management of funding requests and hedge alignments. Monitoring of cash management file, ensuring timely update of currency bank and cash pool balances.
  • FX risk, running reports to monitor and track bid to award and hedge to submission risk
  • Help with preparation of hedge packs and Indicative rate request and maintenance of associated databases.
  • Administration of loan tracker, loan schedule and all loans and cash pool documentation.
  • Analyse and prepare monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • Run and analyse weekly age debt and send out to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with the CTC UK liaison to assist with any queries in relation to project/contract/customer set up, invoicing and cash allocation.
    Significant project-based and improvement work where required.
  • Build relationships and leverage support from international stakeholders including the US. Support Treasury US CTC teams.
  • Ad-hoc month end tasks
  • Opportunities to assist with other areas in Central finance such as Accounting, Tax, Accounts payable and Internal Controls
Candidate Requirements:
  • Self-motivated with a strong academic record and a proven interest in business/accounting.
  • Willingness to continually learn, develop, and improve the way you do things.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to effectively communicate confidently with a wide variety of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Able to work independently, and manage own workload.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office suite experience with a focus on Excel.
  • Willing to study towards a CIMA professional qualification.
  • Have achieved a minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 5 or above including Maths and English Language
  • Have achieved a minimum of 3 A levels grades A*-C with a proven Interest in business/accounting e.g by completing relevant A-levels.
  • Willing to complete pre employment checks and a UK SC security clearance application
