Role Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager within the Nacelles Value Stream . The role requires an experienced, high achieving individual reporting to the Nacelles Value Stream Director based in Wolverhampton.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for the execution of the production programme, driving improved on-time delivery, maturing the strategic sourcing strategy as well as taking responsibility for any future opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:
  • The Value Stream Leader is responsible for creating value for the customer while ensuring success across all phases of the projects
  • Provide Programme Management of designated product lines
  • Establishes milestones, develops, and owns program plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitors allocation of resources.
  • Primary customer contact leading the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Create, maintain, and effectively communicate project plans and resource profiles to cover implementation of WBS packages within existing configuration and new product introduction
  • Management of key financial elements of program Profit & Loss (P&L) to ensure profitability objectives are met.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigating action plans and harvest activities for execution.
  • Accountable for full product life cycle value stream of relevant products: pursuit to order capture, design, and development, produce/implement to deliver, service and support, and retirement.
  • Develops new business growth strategies.
  • Accountable for strategic and financial planning for the SM Program while supporting business reviews and strategic & financial planning activities.
  • Drive reviews and presentations of plans and progress reports, including strategy, progress and results.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and their changes, including preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements, budgets, specifications, and financial conditions.
  • Participate in production and SIOP demand management and planning.
  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources and changing contractual specifications, and assists in resolution development for escalated problems.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas and methodology
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in one of the following areas: Engineering, Program Management, New Product Development, Manufacturing or Supply Chain.
  • Experience managing Teams through influence rather than reporting structure.
  • Good organisational, communication and analytical ability including competence with general IT tools (i.e. MS Office).
  • Experience of the aerospace industry specifically interacting with Defence Aerospace
  • Knowledge of project management IT tools (MS Project) and earned value techniques would be an advantage.
  • Strong financial awareness, passionate desire to excel against demanding customer expectations.
  • Ability to think creatively and wisely apply your influential personality.
  • Educated to graduate level or suitable experience in a Programme led discipline.
  • Willing to travel and to work flexible hours to support communication across different time zones.
