Data Architect - National Salary up to £60,000, London Salary up to £70,000.
Are you a technologist with a strong affinity for data and cloud infrastructure in AWS, Google and/or Azure. Do you like working with the latest technology including but not limited to, Python, Selenium, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, etc. Also you understand CI/CD pipeline and not just as a buzz word but, can set it up to deploy software in the cloud. If so, then we would love to hear from you.

A bit about the job:
Due to growing demand and increase requests from the business for our data product, we require a Designers/Data Architects to join our growing team. As a Designer you will work with some of the most innovative data technology in the market. You will also be instrumental in designing of how we provision our cloud environment to deploy data software for business users. This includes cloud environment set up, security and gateway connection, users access model and IAM.

This role interfaces with 3 main stakeholders, the Cloud team which designs and owns cloud across Aviva, the Development team which build, test, deployment the software to cloud and the Business team with user the software. As such the ability to understand and articulate requirements, challenges and solution to all those different stakeholders is required.

A viva uses "smart-working", and the person in this role will be based at our Bristol, London or Norwich offices.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
The ideal candidates will have experience in at least one of the main cloud providers i.e., AWS, Google or Microsoft. Candidate will have developed and deployed software in one of the main cloud provider infrastructure environments, this includes migration project from on premise to cloud infrastructure. Also, a great understanding of how to monitor data product infrastructure to ensure zero to no outages or downtime except during software upgrades.

The Designer role would suit a Architect/Data Architect/ Sr Software Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in building and deploying data software in the cloud infrastructure for large business organisation. Understanding of how to connect S3, SQL and other databases to data product is crucial.

The ability to understand technical details in Cloud and DevOps environment and communicate to all stakeholders in simple terms, the requirement, the challenges and solutions. Also, not afraid roll up your sleeves and get into the code details as and when required.

In addition, if you have some scripting experience preferably in Python, writing automated testing and knowledge of how to set up CI/CD in Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps that would be great and you're one of the stars we would like to meet.
