Role Summary:


An exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager has arisen within the Military Value Stream in Actuation Systems. The role requires an experienced, high achieving individual reporting to the F35 Programme Manager to take responsibility for leading a team of people to achieve business and customer deliverables.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Leading a multi-disciplined group of people to achieve contracted and targeted project objectives relating to On Time and In Full (OTIF) performance, and to drive on-time to MPS. This will occasionally involve communicating with senior level management within the Customer's organisation, so candidates should have experience / presence of working / communicating at that level.
  • Be the main Customer interface relating to hardware deliveries of the programme.
  • Be the main programme interface on identifying and executing cost reduction opportunities, and other financial enhancement initiatives, to optimise the F35 programme's profitability. Supporting activities include, but not limited to, creating and managing project cash flows, budgets, forecasts, change management coordination and effective monitoring and reporting in accordance with the Collins Management System (CMS)
  • Working with the IPT leads to generate, maintain and effectively communicate project plans and resource profiles/ requirements.
  • Be fully conversant with the CMS and implement across the project (s) under your responsibility - Ensuring compliance to the CMS.
  • Drive Customer Satisfaction to ensure positive Customer Satisfaction surveys against agreed and structured success criteria
  • Supporting Project Status Reviews to Customer and Collins Senior Management
  • Ensure Key Project Indicators are tracked, maintained and reported on a regular basis via the Tier Gemba process and other agreed Collins/ CMS processes
  • Be an advocate for and drive continuous improvement activities utilising the Gemba and Continuous Improvement process methodologies
  • Generating briefs and communications to senior levels of the Actuation business and potentially the wider corporate teams ensuring the communication is tailored to suit
Skills & Experience
  • Good organisational, communication and analytical ability including competence with general IT tools (i.e. MS Office).
  • Knowledge of project management IT tools (MS Project), earned value techniques would be an advantage
  • Demonstrable track record of high-performance standards used to deliver against a programmes objectives
  • Accountability, abundant leadership and communication skills
  • Strong financial awareness and financial management skills
  • Passionate desire to excel against demanding customer expectations
  • Ability to think creatively and apply your influential personality
  • A passion to take ownership and deliver as both leader and member in a winning and supportive team environment
  • Educated to graduate level and experience or enjoyment of working within complex business situations.
  • Willing to travel and to work flexible hours to support communication across different time zones
