Job Title: Media Developer (Storyboarder)
Location(s): The main place of work will be HMS Collingwood with responsibilities for other sites. The role requires a high degree of flexibility; with a requirement for regular travel between sites within the UK.

Summary of Role:

Team Fisher operates a significant outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The training services comprise of Naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Team Fisher instructors as well as training support (e.g. training planning, equipment support, routine maintenance, training design and media development). The contract is entering an exciting new phase with renewed focus on training innovation, optimisation and collaborative working and this role will provide the support and drive to achieve successful delivery of all aspects of the contract in this new phase.

Reporting to the Media Supervisor the Storyboarders role is responsible for the production of Storyboard development to support media development. Transforming the client's requirements into creative media lessons. You are expected to work closely with the Subject Matter Experts (SME) and instructors for gathering critical information to support the media development, ensuring the storyboard captures the Training Objectives (TO's) & Key Learning Points' (KLP's). Communicate and present ideas in a clear and concise manner through storyboard reviews and stakeholder meetings.

Main Duties:
  • To support the Training Media Lead in ensuring effective and efficient delivery of the Selborne Contract Training Media activities
  • Write storyboard design specifications with detailed content outlining actions with compelling and engaging content including scripts, scenes and general text
  • Review storyboards to ensure they meet high-quality standards. Update storyboards through stakeholder design reviews
  • Communicate and articulate detailed specifications in the storyboard for media developers to fully understand the requirement and guide when necessary
  • Adhere to strict deadlines and keep line management updated with your status on different projects
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders
  • When required apply the methods of media analysis to justify the media requirement and return on investment (ROI)
  • Validate the media development against the Storyboard and TO's
  • Applies training and media design knowledge and experience - is able to demonstrate experience in developing and designing training interventions for a variety of media outputs and technology for a blended training solution
  • You are able to analyse and interpret equipment functionality, systems and processes towards developing those actions for storyboarding IMI content for training lessons.
  • Media software knowledge and experience - has a working knowledge of at least one Rapid Authoring industry-leading tool for design and development (including Learning Management Systems and Learning Content Management Systems)
  • Training Design/Storyboard process - Has a working knowledge of ADDIE, SAT with awareness of DSAT JSP's 822, 939.
  • To support the Training Media team for admin management of systems and processes for CDC, CDR, Tasking (TO) and CCF
  • The data entry of training media documentation for design reviews, request for change and project initiation document (PID).
  • Maintain processes in accordance with QMS 1105 Media Styles and Standards.
Other Duties:
  • Carry out any other appropriate task that may be required from time to time
  • Ensure employees understand they are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and students in their care
  • Ensure the promotion of Equality and Diversity throughout your area/department
  • Ensure compliance with MoD regulations and Raytheon QMS procedures
  • Complete assigned training to develop your skills.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential:
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of learning theory
  • Consolidated experience of Instructional and/or Training Design
  • Storyboarding experience with a Systems Approach to Training
  • A background in the field of education and/or training would be desirable.
  • Applying methods of media analysis
  • Experience in developing technology based media solutions
  • Experience of a Rapid Authoring tool and MS Office suite
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Consolidated experience of DSAT (Defence Systems Approach to Training)
