Infrastructure Solution Architect - National Salary Circa £50,000 - London Salary Circa £70,000.
We are looking for an experienced technologist to join our Infrastructure Architecture function. You may be a Solution Architect today or you could be a technical subject matter expert looking to progress to an architecture role.

A bit about the job:
As a Solution Architect you will be accountable for creating designs and artefacts that are fit for purpose from functional, non-functional, service, and security perspectives. You will work within a distributed team, making extensive use of virtual working.

You will deliver solutions that progress the overall architecture journey and are aligned to Aviva's technology Strategy. You will champion the adoption of reusable assets and patterns and be responsible for taking documentation through Technical Design Authority (TDA). You will make authoritative recommendations based on your expert knowledge.

Aviva uses "smart-working", and the person in this role can be based anywhere commutable to an Aviva office.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Strong technical experience and knowledge. This may be broad experience with strong infrastructure domain specialisms that allow you to maximise the benefit of technology in key areas e.g., technical depth in networking, end user compute, security, service, or hosting and cloud. You may be a hands-on technical expert in one of these domains looking to move into an architecting role.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to provide technical guidance to peers and project colleagues. Strong personal impact, negotiation and influencing skills. Using these skills with the project management team to make decisions in a timely manner to keep projects on track. You can describe highly complex technical topics to a non-technical audience.
  • Able to produce accurate and understandable visual representations of technical designs and other artefacts.
  • Understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle methodologies (typically agile).
  • A passion for keeping up with trends in the technology landscape and a desire for continual learning.

What you'll get for this role:
  • National Salary Circa £50,000 - London Salary Circa £70,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Generous pension (starting level Aviva contributes 8% when you contribute 2%)
  • Eligibility for annual performance bonus
  • Family friendly parental and carer's leave
  • 29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days
  • Up to 40% discount for Aviva products
  • Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars
  • Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme
  • 21 volunteering hours per year
