Position summary:

This role requires in-depth understanding of security, technology architecture and business security. Successful candidates will be responsible for leading and managing security assurance activities within the Bank such as planning, implementing, and assisting with the review and assessment of solutions to protect bank systems and data in alignment with the regulatory requirement and the Bank's internal polices and standards.

Essential Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the design and implementation of all information security and IT risk management including drafting, reviewing and implementing relevant policies and procedures as required in order to meet the legal and regulatory requirements
Act as the Bank's subject matter expert in relation to information/cyber security and privacy risk management matters and undertake a comprehensive, in depth review of the Bank's Information/cyber security and privacy risk analysis
Perform regular reviews of controls implemented within the UK and other regional operations to mitigate the identified risks
Respond to requests for advice from business units, support departments and/or branch offices and proactively provide the appropriate level of support to resolve the matter being referred
Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of data security, cyber security and IT risk management related training
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of outputs and regulatory changes related to data security, cyber security and IT risk management
Perform data security due diligence and conduct ongoing data security monitoring of outsourced activities
Liaise with IT Centre (Europe) on data and information/cyber security issues
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and new initiatives related to data and cyber security
Carry out any ad hoc tasks assigned by Head of Data and Process Management Office

Knowledge & experience:
Understanding of information security principles and best practice (e.g. ISO27001)
Broad knowledge of wide range of Information Technology systems and a deep understanding of the inherent security risks associated with these technologies
Analytical skills to analyse security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls
Experience in performing risk assessment, systems accreditation, policy and standards development
Good technical knowledge of network, infrastructure, and application security
Knowledge on GDPR is a plus
Prior work experience in Financial Services sector (preferred but not essential)
Prior work experience in Cyber Security, Data Protection or IT risk preferred
Degree level educated (preferably IT, Compliance, law, banking or finance)
