Cyber and Technology Risk Consultant
Contract Day Rate: £850 - £1100 per day
IR35 Status: In Scope
Contract Length: 6 months initially, strong likelihood of extension
Location: Home Based - Occasional travel to South Yorkshire office


I'm currently on the lookout for a Cyber and Technology Risk Consultant to work with a National Logistics organisation. The ideal candidate will have an extensive risk background, experience independently creating policies, processes and standards, a mixed sector background and the ability to effectively articulate risk and what it means to stakeholders and business leaders based on your risk experience and wider technology understanding.

Your new role will involve

  • Supporting the Head of Cyber Risk in defining and driving the new cyber security risk strategy and framework
  • Driving and shaping the new cyber security risk framework to ensure risks are firstly understood at all levels and then managed in line with organisational risk appetite
  • Performing and facilitating high level risk assessments
  • Constructing policies and standards
  • Articulating risk and making risk meaningful for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Influencing and managing stakeholders - explaining complex risk-focussed issues in language adherent to the stakeholders' technological understanding, explaining what certain risks mean to them and driving their awareness with the view of creating a risk management aware culture
  • Acting as a risk focused SME, providing mentorship, and driving security understanding at all levels
  • Providing contribution to a holistic cyber security and risk awareness campaign

What you'll need to succeed

  • Expert in technology and cyber technology risk
  • Experience in a risk management consultative role with strong exposure to stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience influencing and managing technically and non-technically minded stakeholders and business leaders
  • Experience personally creating security policies and procedures
  • Experience contributing to the definition of organisation's security strategies
  • Mixed sector background
  • Keen practical understanding of a variety of risk frameworks and methodologies
