General Description As an Area Service Engineer, it will be your responsibility to undertake service and maintenance calls as scheduled by our Service Desk team, and Small works as requested. You will also be a member of the out–of–hours on–call rota at Amberstone to ensure full coverage to our customers 24/7/365. This rota is liable to modification in its frequency. You will be responsible for the customer base which lies within your own service area. We will endeavour to keep you within a set Service area, but there will be occurrences where we require you to work outside your normal Service area. You will always maintain levels of professionalism whilst representing the company in an approachable friendly manner, building working relationships with customer representatives at the sites where you regularly attend. You will be required to assist in maintaining all SLA s (Service Level Agreements) that we have agreed with customers and do your upmost to work as efficiently and professionally as possible to ensure we meet these demands. To consistently promote Amberstone standard codes of practice in terms of levels of professionalism and customer care by presenting a positive image. Actively always offer the highest standards of customer service and best practice whilst keeping in mind the best interests of the company. Knowledge and skills requirement You will possess a sound understanding of CCTV / Intruder / Access Control /Fire systems, Amberstone will ensure that you are fully trained in the latest relevant working safely procedures, and that you obtain all necessary qualifications to work for our Clients Amberstone will endeavour to train you in any areas that are either Company Specific, or that you express a deficiency in (work related), in accordance with our Training Bond policy. Key Responsibilities To ensure the smooth running of your designated service area. To actively communicate any outstanding issues within your area to your Line Manager or Supervisor. To actively seek to manage your area revisits (keeping them to a minimum) To be an Ambassador for Amberstone. To undertake any reasonable duties passed to you by the Service Team in a timely manner. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Appearance At all working times you will wear Company issued clothing, and carry your Amberstone Identification. Vehicle– Your vehicle is your responsibility; you are to book the vehicle in at the recommended service interval with an approved Service Centre. Your vehicle shall be kept clean and presentable at all times (where practical). You will carry ladders on your vehicle at all working times Working Hours You will adhere to the Company working Hours, and be aware that from time to time you may be asked to work outside these hours. The Company would expect you to assist in these requests as and where reasonable, and as the needs of the Business dictate. Paperwork and procedure You will submit all requested paperwork s fully and on time. Any incorrectly filled in paperwork will be returned for resubmission. You will be expected to read and respond to Company Emails in a timely manner. Service The Engineer shall at all times present a positive image of Amberstone to the Client, and shall endeavour to provide a first–class service. First Fix– The engineer should at all times be aiming to complete calls on the first callout to ensure customers systems have maximum up time and call charges are reduced. Documentation Be for creating all handover paperwork and documentation for each service call out, legibly and concisely, and ensuring that any disconnections and/or further action work is correctly logged and actioned. Communication You will communicate any issues or problems that you have directly to either the Service Desk (Service–related problems) or your Line Manager. Adherence to policy – Adheres to company policy in relation to Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities and complies with all policies and procedures as laid out in the current company staff handbook
