Role summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence are looking for an individual to join our Capabilities organisation and focus on supporting the day-to-day business operations of our International Government teams. (c150 people). Working into the area Capabilities Business Manager you will support and own a number of key activities and processes that are critical to running an efficient and profitable business.

The role would suit anyone looking to gain a better understanding of business management, and would be ideal for someone who is just starting out in their career having recently graduated from university or alternatively is able to demonstrate suitable relevant experience and enthusiasm.

We embrace hybrid working and therefore the role will be a split of Work from home and working from our Guildford office 2 days per week.

As part of your development not only will you learn how we run a business area and have access to leaders across the business, you will also have a career manager and buddy assigned to help you build a network across BAE Systems and define your own career in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Resource Management - work with Project Managers and Team Leads to understand how many people we need, with what skill, in what location
  • Ensure everyone is productive - focus on the right roles for our staff and ensure the right level of utilisation is maintained, arrange for people to rotate projects and product teams and manage our bench
  • Building a sense of community - help bring the area together through open communication and other events
  • Support recruitment - ensure requirements are clear and the right people are involved in the process
  • On-boarding of new staff - help make International Government a great place to work right from the start
  • Reporting - understand our people utilisation and be able to communicate and forecast our business performance

Skills and Experience Required

  • Great time management and prioritisation skills - You are at the hub of activity and will need to cope with many conflicting demands on your time from senior stakeholders
  • Good problem solving and facilitation skills, and a particular strength in stakeholder management
  • Good business awareness - you will be expected to understand business priorities and support business decision-making
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of resource management and planning would be beneficial to help you hit the ground running
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office packages, in particular Excel.

Due to the nature of this role the ideal candidate will need to be a UK national and be eligible to receive UK Security clearance
