Vectra Security Engineer

Whitehall Resources are looking for a Vectra Security Engineer. This is a hybrid role, where it may be required to attend onsite 2 days a week in Radbroke.

The role is deemed INSIDE IR35, therefore the candidate may be required to use an FCSA accredited Umbrella company.

Role Description:

– Experience and familiarity with Installing/deploying system software and agents that monitor systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions, in addition to supporting and being in roles within the following security technology toolsets.
– Qomplx or similar NDR/TDR Network and Threat Detection and Response systems and other network appliance–based security solutions
– Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot integration of third–party appliance based NDR and or TDR platforms with on–prem and cloud–based services
– Strong knowledge of security and network architectures in relation to deploying security systems in an Enterprise network environment, so an understanding of Firewalls, Load Balancers, Proxies, and the requirements for configuring the traversal of traffic through these appliances and security systems.
– Understanding of the attack types and detection methods to collaborate with Cyber Operations team on best practice detection configuration setup.
– Strong interpersonal skills: role will require engagement with a varied and global internal and external customer base
– Documentation skills in order to provide high quality documentation for internal customers and technical support teams
– Knowledge and experience working with other tech teams to integrate system feeds/logs through to SIEM platforms.
– Openness to learning and managing additional Information Security technologies as business requirements change
– Understands the requirements of governance in a large financial environment, particularly around Change Management, Risk Management, handling major and minor incidents, Disaster Recovery planning/testing and meeting requirements of rigorous Audit mandates
– Exposure to cloud technologies, AWS, Azure and SaaS based security solutions
– Negotiation and prioritisation skills; role will require the ability to negotiate and prioritise activities with senior stakeholders based on available resources
– Ability to think architecturally and able to translate this into practical security implementation
– Basic/Intermediate level of Scripting/coding ability eg, python, PowerShell, etc
– Experience working with and supporting Linux/Unix and windows server platforms
– Ability to work in remote teams, set and control own workload and be able to lead and mentor others.
