Hays Technology are presently supporting a distinguished public sector organisation with the recruitment of a Cyber Security Specialist. Owing to internal promotion, the organisation require an experienced Cyber Security Lead to join the ICT Security team.

Your new role
Your remit will include:

  • Leading and training staff on all security related aspects of delivery of day-to-day security service including the development of security SOPs
  • Supporting the adoption of new security related technologies, by risk assessing different solutions and presenting them to management in a written report
  • Adhering to governance standards ISO27001, Cyber Essential Plus (CE+) and the Data Security and Protection toolkit
  • Leading on threat intelligence gathered and implement processes to mitigate that threat to the organisation and its customers
  • Delivering & achieving all KPIs and external SLA agreements in relation to Cyber Security
  • Developing and testing of advanced Cyber playbooks
  • Developing plans to onboard new service lines and customers onto the organisation's security infrastructure
  • Developing scripts and automation e.g., use of Powershell scripting


What you'll get in return

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience
  • Suitable technical professional qualification for a senior position e.g. CISSP / CISM or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
  • Relevant training in network and server technologies
  • Significant experience and exposure in supporting a large, complex and diverse organisation
  • Significant security experience within an ISO27001 certified organisation
  • Demonstrable track record in implementing security related solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects to a successful conclusion, using structured methodologies
  • Substantial knowledge of Change Management processes and techniques
  • Experience of mentoring / managing staff within a department
  • Working to IT service management best practice i.e. ITIL
  • Ability to forge long-term working partnerships with individuals and groups from internal and external departments and organisations
  • Ability to write clear concise reports, letters, minutes and documents using a good standard of English
