Could you be Incommunities new Data Protection Manager? We are looking for an experienced data protection subject matter expert to build relationships with key stakeholders to promote awareness of the importance of data protection across Incommunities. You will ensure we are compliant against the ICO Accountability Framework as well as provide assurance to the Board. This is an exciting time to join Incommunities and be at the forefront of delivering positive change across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on and drive the Data Protection Service by building a deep understanding of Data Protection within the business, coaching and influencing staff to proactively and successfully embed Data Protection into their role with the support of effective policies and procedures
  • Work and liaise with senior leaders and departments to ensure that Incommunities meets its requirements under relevant Data Protection legislation including subject access
  • Provide high–quality professional advice and guidance on Data Protection issues to ensure organisation change in order to minimise risk to the business
  • To prepare and conduct formal proceedings brought by and against Incommunities in relation to data protection

Requirements

  • A strategic approach to data protection and how an organisation like Incommunities delivers this for its customers and staff
  • Experience of dealing with the ICO and handling complaints from data subjects
  • You will have demonstrable experience in improving data protection frameworks, training staff and giving them the tools they need so that they deliver and embed strong controls
  • Data protection qualification
