  • They are transforming their application estate into a service-based architecture, based on a modern Microsoft Tech Stack, hosted in Azure. They use continuous delivery pipelines to build, test and deploy their applications and infrastructure securely, reliably, and repeatedly.
  • They are exploring new ways of working and are understanding how Agile practices delivered at scale can allow them to both move at pace and better respond to their fast evolving and growing business.

Your new role

  • You will be part of the Security Architecture, Engineering and Governance team, which is responsible: all aspects of security architecture and design, security engineering, responsible for security-related policies/standards, design and build of security related controls, security tooling selection and implementation, external stakeholders management.
  • You will help to design, build, and continually improve on the development and execution of the firm's cloud security initiatives.
  • The role entails technical ownership for designing and implementing critical cloud security tools and combines hands-on work whilst coordinating tasks across different technical groups.
  • You will take the lead to develop and implement security engineering initiatives that may impact multiple technical teams.
    • You will support the Head of Security Architecture, Engineering & Governance to drive the future state of security by staying up to date with Cyber Security industry best practices and relevant technologies.
    • You will become a key subject matter expert within the Security Architecture team able to share and publicise knowledge across diverse teams.
    • You will identify potential problems early and be able to solution feasible mitigation options that are understandable to a non-technical audience.
    • You will be hands-on to deliver the prioritised engineering initiatives for cloud security across the company under the leadership of the Head of Security Architecture, Engineering & Governance.
    • Identify automation and operational improvements for key security components and services including log collection, analytics engines, identity access, encryption services and centralised dashboarding.
  • Develop and continuously improve the company's overall cloud security posture by improving our ability to prevent, detect, identify, and respond to critical security events.
  • Assess new and evolving cloud security services (e.g., Azure Kubernetes, any other Azure services, Cloud App Security) for suitability and develop security blueprints to support adoption.
  • Identify and resolve Cloud security service integration issues and propose and develop service improvements.
  • Work with the company's development and cloud platform teams to help deliver a secure software development lifecycle, including the hands-on integration of technical security controls into a secure and auditable route to production using CI/CD techniques.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation.


What you'll need to succeed

  • You will need extensive working knowledge and experience of designing, securing, and integrating applications/systems within Azure public cloud environments including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Working technical knowledge of automation using a variety of tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, Runbooks, ARM Templates, Terraform etc. as well as integrating services through APIs and orchestration tools such as Chef
  • Working technical experience onboarding and integrating external 3rd party SaaS solutions with modern cloud authentication protocols and API channels
  • Experience of migrating applications/services from on-prem to cloud environment
  • Working knowledge of web related technologies such as Web applications, Web Services and REST-based Service Architectures and of network/web related protocols.
    • Familiar with containerization including building secure container images, monitoring, and security tooling for CI/CD pipelines such as Teamcity (or any other equivalent tool), Aqua Security, Veracode application security scanning.
    • Interest in all aspects of security research and development.
  • Familiar with IT Security standards and industry recognised guidelines such as CIS and OWASP
  • Familiar with Defence in Depth techniques.
  • Experience of agile methodologies and DevSecOps processes.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills and taking personal accountability for assigned deliverables.
  • Experience working with multiple, and perhaps conflicting, stake holders and possessing a positive, problem-solving personality with enthusiasm to achieve great results.
