Job Description

Fantastic in house role for a Commercial Solicitor / Data Protection & Privacy Legal Counsel to join FTSE 100 company and local success story. The business requires a Legal Counsel to take on an important role, specialising in data protection and privacy. Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne with flexible working and an excellent benefits package.

Taking on a key role within the Legal team, you will be a qualified Solicitor with significant commercial legal experience. Ideally you will have solid experience in data protection and may have already chosen to specialise in this area however, Commercial lawyers with a keen interest to pursue a career in data are also strongly encouraged to apply. As a guide, the business is looking for a Solicitor with upwards of c. 3 years PQE.

Day to day you will assist colleagues across the business (including those in product development and technical teams, sales and marketing plus the wider legal team), with the provision of advice in connection with complex privacy legal matters, and privacy risk incident management. The role also involves developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with data protection legal requirements.
