Your new role
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of technical solutions that the software team is working on. You will be involved at every stage of the development of the software, to ensure that threat risks and vulnerabilities are minimised. This is a role that requires you to share your knowledge of cyber security and inform other team members of the threats the application may face and how to mitigate those threats. This role will encompass a couple areas of cyber security, and so you will have the opportunity to tackle some interesting and educational challenges.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience or knowledge of application security as well as a thorough understanding of network security and practices. You will understand infrastructure security and experience of utilising bespoke security tools and solutions. To be a fit for this role, you will have some awareness of standards in Security (such as NCSC, ISO, SOC PCI, GDPR) and would be able to advise architects, developers and ops engineers on practices that help to maintain these standards. An added benefit to this role would be experience or qualifications within penetration testing and some level of exposure to a wider security community.
