The role is for a Service Delivery Manager within the S-IKM project, with the resource embedded client-side within DE&S.

The main responsibility is to manage the Services to meet client, time and quality standards/KPIs. They will act as the client's single point of contact for the delivery of live services - managing the Application Support Team, reporting into the S-IKM Project Manager and liaising with the wider Service organisation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the management of the S-IKM Application Support team;
  • Produces service reports, manages incidents, problems and change in the service and escalates with the client as appropriate;
  • Manages client subcontractors who deliver components of the service;
  • Manages the design, estimation, approval and implementation of change requests to the service.
  • Work closely and effectively with other roles to provide coherent leadership, including, Project Manager, Engineering Lead and Technical Lead;
  • Promote best practices and good ways of working;
  • Line Management Responsibilities for multiple team members;
  • Continual Service Improvement
  • Maintain Project Documentation, and support internal and external reporting requirements, such as Customer Project Review Board, Service Review Board & BAES DI PRB;
  • Identification of additional opportunities with the DE&S Customer, including escalation of these opportunities to the S-IKM Project Manager.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Knowledge of Service Architecture principles to develop existing Service Designs as the scope of the programme evolves.
  • Familiarity with ITIL4 practices & process
  • Works with minimal-to-no supervision on large and complex projects
  • Self-driven and is capable of navigating a complex technical and stakeholder landscape
  • An SDM must be able to evidence managing challenging client critical support services, demonstrate dealing with high priority issues and subsequent stabilisation of services in a demanding, time pressured environment
  • During challenging periods the SDM will be expected to maintain a clear and calm attitude whilst showing appropriate levels of concern and pursuing a suitable course of action to overcome the problems presented
  • Ensures that appropriate MOD standards and industry best practices are identified and adhered to.
