Firewall Engineer

FPSG are proudly working in partnership with a large global organisation that are known to be the leader within their field. Due to the extensive growth of the business, we are supporting with the recruitment drive to add a highly experienced Firewall Cyber Security Engineer to the team on a permanent contract.

Please note: Due to the nature of the business and current projects, you must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance and be able to work FULLY on–site. As part of the vetting process will be required to either have, or be able to obtain SC Clearance on offer of position and have lived and worked within the UK continuously for 5 years minimum as a UK citizen.

The Role:

• Deliver security solutions across client estate.
• Provide firewall support within agreed procedures and processes.
• Advice on decision making and document best practices to meet customers needs.
• Work with agreed SLAs and timescales whilst taking ownership.
• Be proactive with emergency situations and troubleshoot solutions.
• Provide security reports.
• Safeguard all sensitive client information.
• Take lead on ensuring all aspects of security polices are adhered to.

About You:

• 6 years experience within network security engineering.
• At least 1 years experience desirable with either – PCNSA/CCNP Security/ JNCIS–SEC/ CCSE.
• Highly skilled in Palo Alto Firewall Engineering.
• Working knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint & Fortinet.
• Exposure to Layer 7 based Next Gen Firewall capabilities, configuration and deployment.
• Good understanding of Network protocols.
• Analytical with the ability to problem solve, effectively and efficiently.
• API scripting desirable.
• Relevant education or similar security/ computer science qualification.
• Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
• Approachable and effective relationship building skills.
