They are currently looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join their technology team to assist their mission, someone who can contribute to the provision of their services and to a variety of projects.

Your new role
When taking up the position of Senior Security Engineer, your purpose will be to provide expert security guidance, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. You will work with other members in your team, such as the Information Security Analyst, to specify security policies, while developing information security standards, procedures, and processes. On top of this, you will assist in designing, scheduling, and managing upgrades to services, while taking a lead role in the implementation. Additionally, you will use your infrastructure experience when assisting the Head of Operations in producing and maintaining continuous service improvements and undertaking maintenance on core IT infrastructure systems.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will have a good knowledge of security frameworks such as Cyber Essentials or ISO27001, as well as IT service management frameworks such as ITIL. What will be key is your knowledge of virtualisation technologies and hypervisors, VMWare is a key example of this, while also meeting CIS benchmarks when securing them. Generally, knowledge of security principles for core infrastructure, like storage, servers, emails, will set you up well, as well as a familiarity with supporting cloud services like Azure.
If you have experience in working with suppliers and partners, managing small projects and high availability IT core systems, this could be a good fit for you. While not essential, a degree in IT and security will beneficial, as well as a security certification like CISM or CISSP.
