Conceptual Designer
Position Grade: D
Reporting to: Concept Team Assistant Manager
Location: Hybrid (Any location)
Working hours: 35 hours per week following contractually agreed shifts (which may vary)

Working closely with the larger CREATE team, you will be using your top end conceptual and ideation experience to build strong creative messaging to drive creativity and produce amazing products. You will be able to understand complex problems and produce creative solutions and then manage and govern the creative as the project evolves - you will using your outstanding design skills to produce outstanding work and you are able to mentor team members to get the best out of them too.
You will be able to work within and push master brands for both KPMG and our clients. Producing stand out projects all sympathetic to KPMG's already established brand.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Using your creativity and design thinking you will help communicate visual stories and solve clients' problems with creative conceptual solutions.
  • Creating impactful visual content that aids the development and presentation of clients' stories, ensuring their quality, consistency and effectiveness.
  • You will feel comfortable to push the boundaries of how we visually communicate concepts, business models, strategic narratives, brand stories, and presentation materials
  • As the Conceptual Designer, you will use your outstanding Adobe CC skills you will be accountable for execution of high end design products, these could be brand & marketing communications and campaigns, Proposal material, social media, web, event collateral, and presentation decks.
  • You will be able to understand the big idea and then deliver a concise story to sell this in and make it relevant to potential customers and clients.
  • You will deliver copy that will be at the heart of the big idea and reflects the values and core of the brand, you will have a proven track record of success in developing compelling and persuasive content for multiple channel campaigns and you will be able to tailor the copy to make it relevant for these different channels.
  • Execute strategic, bespoke and routine design projects from concept through production, effectively prioritising work and balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Determine project scope including effective brief taking, negotiating deadlines, and creating and communicating timescales, to define cost estimates for complex marketing/communication campaigns.
  • Build up strong relationships with KPMG's brand team.
  • Educate and influence clients to ensure that deadlines are delivered accurately and on schedule and within budget.
  • Actively contribute to strategy sessions and follow-up/debrief meetings with all levels of staff within the firm.
  • Excellent knowledge and application of KPMG's visual identity; promote awareness of visual identity in the business. Keep up to date with the evolution of KPMG's brand.
  • Work with team members to implement and drive internal initiatives/projects which contribute to an enhanced service offering and promote awareness within KPMG.
  • Identify and initiate improvements to the design and execution of graphics material.
  • May be required to undergo training in other disciplines to assist when necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance and best practice guidance on branding to KPMG staff in the creation, layout and processing or amendment of company reports, documents, screen presentations, and other formats.
  • Proofread documents for typographical errors and inconsistencies in layout.
The Person
Required skills
  • Formal qualification in Graphic Design and/or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced technical skills in Adobe Create Suite (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop/XD) packages.
  • Have strong skills in typography, layout, digital design and colour.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong copywriting skills that will amplify KPMG's tone of voice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working with staff at all levels.
  • Good project/time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English grades A-C.
  • Degree in Graphic Design and/or related discipline.
  • Able to supply an up-to-date portfolio of own work.
