Your new role
Imagine being part of our esteemed infrastructure team, where you'll take charge of hosting and developing our data warehouse solutions across the globe. This dynamic team looks after high end SQL Server Clusters hosting SQL Enterprise Edition data warehouses on Dell EMC SANs using AMD EPYC hosts. We take pride in our proprietary analytics product and patented storage technologies, which means you'll have the incredible opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that is revolutionising the sector. Your team is also at the forefront of supporting opensource technologies such as Redhat EAP on JBoss application servers and Identity management systems including SAML. As a key member, you'll adhere to industry best practices and standards such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials, ensuring the highest level of security in your work. What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you'll need to possess a wide range of skills encompassing Microsoft technologies and systems. Having a comprehensive understanding of these technologies, coupled with a selection of Microsoft certifications, will be key to your success in this position. Your expertise should also extend to working with OpenSource technologies, such as RedHat, Linux and UNIX, as well as Data warehousing technologies, possessing a clear understanding for relational databases and how they operate. Your infrastructure experience will encompass Hyper-V, Windows Clustering, SANs and Virtual Switches, enabling you to excel in virtualisation whilst ensuring high availability. It's essential to have a strong understanding of core Windows network services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and PowerShell scripting, as they are integral to effective system management. Familiarity with security and identity management practices will further enhance your capabilities in this role.
