During this role, you will be critical in supporting the ThreatCo and CTI Group initiative. You'll be working in a team whose focus is to harvest unique threat intelligence from a variety of sources (proprietary network data, HoneyPot, Malware Analysis) and hunt for anomalies and changes in behaviour in the threat landscape. Your mission will be to generate unique cyber threat intelligence by analysing and exploiting BT's proprietary network data. Everything the team produces gets ingested into our Threat Intelligence Platform which then helps fulfil our Threat Intel customer requirements.

What you'll do:
  • Respond to requests from the CSIRT team and CTI Ops team manager to assist in malware analysis, focusing on extracting IoCs and understanding of attacker intentions.
  • Develop and report intelligence analysis findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze the ever-changing threat landscape, evaluate attacker trends, motivations, tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Work collaboratively with other teams, both within BT Security and across the business, to provide guidance and support in relation to malware.
You'll definitely:
  • Have a strong understanding and experience analysing malware (both static and dynamic).
  • Have a broad understanding of network architecture and network security protocols
  • Have an analytical mindset, be self-motivated and proactive, and be able to manage time efficiently.
  • Have a deep understanding of the cyber threat landscape
You might even:
  • Have provided intelligence support to real-time cyber threat incidents
  • Have participated in industry-based Threat Intelligence sharing groups
  • Possesses and maintains professional and/or academic qualifications in the CTI domain.
  • Have worked with Threat Intelligence Platforms, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and its potential applications in CTI.
  • Have experience in stakeholder management
  • Have a basic understanding of Linux, Assembly language, C/C++/JavaScript
  • Basic understanding of AWS, GCP or similar platforms.
