Your new company
Hays Technology are recruiting an IT Manager/Technical Lead for a growing public sector organisation based in the Leeds area on a permanent basis. You will be reporting to the Head of Digital and will be part of the IT leadership team.
Your new role
You will be providing technical expertise, strategic thinking and advising on appropriate solutions and stakeholder management whilst contributing to the IT strategy, identifying opportunities for improving digital maturity, digital transformation, service, cost, and process improvements.
Within this role, you will be responsible for IT Governance and assurance and the general wellbeing of the IT function within the organisation, whilst being on-call for all things IT. Some of your wider responsibilities include, scoping, and managing the execution of penetration testing and vulnerability scanning, ad hoc technical audits, technical design, cyber security, support of new procurement services, and software licenses.
What you'll need to succeed
- Significant & demonstrable experience of supporting complex IT departments with a wide-ranging IT knowledge
- Experience in technical design, solutions, service continuity, disaster recovery and IT security would be ideal.
- Windows technology and Azure/Cloud experience ideal
- IT management skills and strategic thinking
- Experience of IT Governance, Assurance and Cyber Security
- Experience of leading continuous improvement activities and facilitating sustainable change in working practices, process, and culture
- Experience of procurement and licensing
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
