The support provided includes Estates & Facilities Service Desk, IT Service Desk, Residences Service Desk, NMES Service Desk, Online Services, IT third line technical support, and Business Operations.
Your new role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple IT projects throughout their lifecycle to meet the organisation's needs within set budgets, timescales, and quality parameters. This includes delivering IT security projects in line with the Cyber Security Strategy. The role involves building relationships with a broad stakeholder community and business partners, managing resources, revenue, and capital costs against project budgets, and ensuring effective planning, delivery, and communication. The Senior Project Manager will lead in the delivery of IT Projects using Microsoft Project online, document and deliver cyber security projects, manage the full life cycle of IT procurement activities, and contribute to the creation of benefits realisation plans. They will also prepare detailed planning and budgetary reports for various audiences and manage staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
What you'll need to succeed
The role requires essential qualifications and skills such as PRINCE2 or equivalent, ITIL Foundation qualifications, excellent project management, planning, leadership, and communication skills. Experience in managing projects, using Microsoft Project, and working with third parties to deliver IT Solutions is also essential. The ability to influence, motivate, and inspire others, manage priorities, and travel for training and meetings is required. Desirable qualifications include a degree or equivalent project qualifications/experience, Agile DSDM or Agile Scrum Master qualifications/experience, and experience using Microsoft Project Online, Azure DevOps, and Share Point. An understanding of contemporary problems and issues facing the sector is also desirable.
