Security Engineer Location – London An opportunity has arisen for an Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer to join the Asset Intelligence team at Galliford Try. Infrastructure carries out civil engineering projects, primarily for clients in the water, highways, security, Asset Intelligence markets. In addition, the Investments business invests in public private partnerships, creating construction and facilities management opportunities for the Group. Galliford Try Asset Intelligence: Galliford Try s Asset Intelligence business works predominantly within the UK s Critical National Infrastructure market, focussing on Defence, Water, Energy, Transport and Telecommunications sectors. We deliver multi–site security programs, and our expertise in the planning, design and delivery processes, together with our CNI Security knowledge and experience, enables us to efficiently deliver fully integrated physical and electronic security programmes and portfolios of work on critical operational assets. What you will be doing: This position will report to the Technical Manager and will support the Project Delivery Teams in the drafting, management and delivery of commissioning plans and activity across our Security and Fire Projects. You will provide support to the Technical Manager and Business Development Team, through the provision of expert technical information and detailed estimating. This role will be key to the growth strategy of the business and the successful candidate will be provided with a Personal Development Plan and dedicated training and mentoring to support and advance their career successfully Key tasks include: Leadership and Management of the Commissioning and Installation Teams, ensuring flexible and efficient deployment of the team. Provision of expert Fire and Security information to the Operational and Business Development in support of operational tender activities. Preparation, delivery and monitoring of Commissioning Plans. Preparation of Commissioning Documentation including Commissioning Manuals, Inspection & Test Plans, Inspection & Test Reports and Training Manuals. Reviewing diagrams and provide strategies to commission equipment in line with client specifications without compromising process and reducing risks. Attendance at commissioning meetings with representatives from our clients engineering and operational teams Undertaking Factory Acceptance Testing for major items of equipment. Liaising with our suppliers and subcontractors throughout the on–site commissioning process. The commissioning, interfacing and setting to work of equipment, including: Intruder Panels & Various Intruder devices CCTV Access Control Intercoms PIDS Demonstration of commissioned systems to our clients representatives to gain sign off prior to takeover. Undertaking client training covering both operational and technical competencies. Completion of commissioning records and diaries ensuring that all progress and equipment settings are recorded for the O&M manuals. Assist the design team and prepare security designs ensuring compliance with the current regulations and all other relevant specifications. A proactive and motivated individual, who is able manage themselves and the team effectively. Expansive knowledge of Fire and Security Systems and Standards. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong communication, with good customer relation skills. Ability to multi–task and work in a fast–paced environment. Team player and demonstrates integrity and respect with the ability to build strong business relationships. Attention to detail Desirable: Experience of managing multiple projects in a Fire and Security environment. Experience in the Preventative and Reactive Maintenance delivery fields. Knowledge, Skills and Experience in discrete Fire and Security systems and technologies, such as: Gent Siemens Cerberus Pro Genesis Milestone Notifier Bosch Fire Suppression BAFE Service Desk experience.
