In this role, your main responsibility is to act as first point of contact for your business partners related to all their operational, compliance and financial risk topics. This means working closely with business partners across the process value chain to continuously improve their risk and compliance framework.

About the Role

Your main activities in particular:
• You maintain and improve the risk control framework of Reinsurance Life and Health businesses.
• You provide Governance support to L&H Valuation and Analysis teams globally and L&H Valuation COE
• You partner with business leaders to maintain a robust risk and control framework that is fit for purpose now and in the future.
• You advise business on any operational risk or governance matters (e.g. operational events/ issues reporting, audit etc)
• You drive identification of any potential gaps in controls and identification of areas for improvement or simplification while ensuring consistency between the regions and teams (global perspective).
• You lead or contribute to governance workstreams of key group projects related to process or control improvements
• You collaborate with all the assurance functions to drive greater value for the 1st line while ensuring a good governance framework.
• You use data analytics and visualizations to highlight concerns and for monitoring.

About the Team

The Operational Resilience & Governance Team sits under Business Excellence L&H Re. The team is diverse, global and delivers on a wide range of business objectives. We are an integrated unit that aligns governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal control efforts to create a comprehensive and cohesive approach to managing operational, and legal & compliance risks.

About You

You are an excellent teammate with strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to connect the dots end-to-end and build effective working relationships with stakeholders across markets/ different functional areas. You have strong sense for ownership for timely and high-quality delivery and are able to deal positively with ambiguity and many diverse topics.

What we would like you to have:
• Insurance/reinsurance operational experience of 5 years or more, good L&H, and/or Actuarial or Risk expertise,Swiss Re company knowledge is an asset
• Good understanding of actuarial methods, IFRS accounting principles, and information systems
• Deep knowledge of three lines of defence concept
• Experience in leading projects and change initiatives
• Experience in driving improved use of data to manage risks is a plus
• University degree or equivalent business experience
• Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage
