Do you want to complete a work-based apprenticeship to develop the skills required to operate within a commercial business in a FTSE 250 company, that's leading the way in sustainability, and has committed to being carbon negative by 2030?

Over the programme you'll receive tailored training and support on soft and business-related skills, alongside developing commercial business awareness. You'll receive support from our early careers team and your mentor, and you'll develop a network of peers across the business.

We'll give you the opportunity to learn, grow and take the first step into working life - how far you take it is up to you!

About the roleWorking for the Cyber Security Architecture team, you'll develop skills and knowledge relating to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Drax Group Enterprise IT and Operational Technology environments. This apprenticeship aligns to the Cyber Security Technical Professional Apprentice Standard, Level 6.

Over a 4-year period you will complete a BSc (Hons) Cyber Security Technical Professional Degree apprenticeship, and you'll develop a broad understanding of security frameworks, controls, environments, software, hardware and data to apply appropriate security design, controls and risk to best secure these environments. All the while you'll be earning an income and building your experience.

An apprenticeship offers a comprehensive mix of theoretical and practical knowledge and training, but also the opportunity to work within the industry and gain experience by applying those new skills in a real-world security environment, so as you develop and advance your understanding of cyber security issues and technology solutions, you'll get to put theory into practice on a daily basis and learn the skills you need to begin your career as a security professional

You'll be able to respond to change in a flexible and positive manner including in time-sensitive and high-pressured environments, and you'll have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

As this is a role that supports the operation, you'll need to feel comfortable on site at the power station working in an operational environment when needed. You'll also need to be prepared to travel to other sites within the business on an ad-hoc basis, and to Demontfort University in Leicester where you will conduct your educational elements.

Am I eligible?To be eligible for the opportunity listed above, you will need at least GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C, 5 or above AND one of the below;
