The PIMCO Information and Cybersecurity Organization is looking to hire a Cloud Security Analyst with a background of operating security controls and securing public cloud environments. The Cloud Security Analyst is expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem–solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines. This role will create policy as code, define secure benchmarks for services, operate and integrate cloud security tooling, and secure cloud applications and platform infrastructure by providing security guidance. This role reports to the VP of Application and Cloud Security.
Top candidates will be comfortable with public cloud security frameworks like the Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) and CIS benchmarks. They will also have a background in scripting, some threat modeling experience, as well as an eagerness to learn and quickly upskill their public cloud knowledge. Experience with AWS is highly preferred, with background in Microsoft Azure a plus.

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification, certification, or experience
  • Expertise with at least one major cloud service provider, AWS preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience within a cybersecurity domain.
  • Knowledge of public cloud resource misconfigurations, as well as detective/preventative controls for enforcing configuration standards skills.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security platforms, and their capabilities (CSPM, CIEM, CWPP, KSPM, DSPM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with security frameworks relevant to public cloud (CSA CCM, CIS, NIST 800–53, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • Comfortable with one or more general purpose programming languages; Java, Python, Go.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a global, matrixed organization; this role interacts with many teams throughout the firm
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement of security posture and drive their delivery
  • Ability to quickly learn and synthesize new information
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Salary Range: $ 90,000.00 – $ 100,000.00
