Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity tojoin Care Group 2 (Surgery) as the Clinical Governance Lead. The post holderwill support the CSU leadership teams to ensure Clinical Governance Processesare embedded within the Care Group and supporting compliance with governancestandards. The role will require you to provide reassurance to the SeniorLeadership Team of patient safety incident responses, participation in AfterAction Reviews, incident investigations, complaint/concern handling. This alsoincludes providing scoping reports, writing incident reports, developing actionplans, producing Care Group reports and presenting on behalf of the Care Groupas a senior nurse.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Governance Leadwill be part of the Car Group leadership team and the lead Nurse for theClinical Governance agenda, supporting the clinical teams to ensure thatClinical Governance is embedded by:Co-ordinating Datix incidents/Risk Management,ensuring that Clinical Leads/Matrons/Ward Managers/Service Managers aremanaging their risks in a timely manner and taking action for any risksidentified and ensuring action plans are being embedded. Supporting themanagement of the risk register.To lead and support others in undertaking SeriousIncident/Red/Never Event investigations, supporting root cause analysis,writing and producing reports and actions plans for the Division and the widerTrust Clinical and Quality Improvement Agenda are engaged within the Care Groupto support improvements in care with robust governance processes.Supporting the Departments to ensure thatinfection control standards are maintained and audited within the Division.Support the Senior Nursing Team to deliverlearning from incidents, complaints and claims, fostering a culture whichengages clinical and non-clinical staff to deliver excellent and high qualityservices.Support Matrons, Clinical Leads and ServiceManagers in the investigation of complaints, ensuring that patients/relativesreceive complaint responses in a timely manner.Be the Care Group link to the Your Experienceteam, by weekly meetings and Incident Panel, facilitating responses and panelattendance.
