Head of Clinical Governance, Quality and Risk | Spire Bushey Hospital | Fixed term contract - 12 months | Full time |

Spire Bushey Hospital has an opportunity for an experience Head of Clinical Governance to join us on a fixed term contract for 12 months. The focus will be to ensure a safe service and provide leadership in the delivery of our Clinical Governance Strategies. You will lead our experienced team and work with our Director of Clinical Services and Hospital Director to lead and deliver a robust Clinical Governance framework across Spire Bushey

The hospital offers a premium service in key areas of complex healthcare including orthopaedics, neuro spinal, general surgery and gynaecology. Spire Bushey Hospital forms part of a 4-site portfolio and is supported by and works alongside Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre, Elstree Cancer Centre and Spire Pathology Centre - based on Centennial Park in Elstree - just 5 minutes from the main hospital site.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead the governance and compliance activity within the hospital.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate investigations of adverse events occurring within the hospital.
  • Lead in clinical audit to promote evidence-based practice.
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of patient safety related information throughout all levels of the hospital.
  • Lead in development of methods and processes to aid the management of Clinical Risk
  • Engage with individuals throughout the hospital in relation to policy management.
  • Develop own knowledge and practice and assist others to continually professionally develop.
  • Develop a working environment and culture that actively improves clinical safety and quality.
  • Monitor consultant information and co-ordinate reports to identify trends and support the practicing privilege's review process.

Who we're looking for:
  • Clinical Governance experience
  • Experience of working in a clinical environment
  • Previous Team Management Experience
  • Evidence of participation of audit activities
  • Root cause analysis and or PSIRF training
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and closing actions
  • Able to present data and information in a neat, professional and accessible manner that promotes the reputation of the business
  • A motivated self-starter who can work with initiative with minimal direction, able to develop ideas and translate them into workable systems
