Location - Glasgow, Edinburgh or Newcastle

Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our either the Glasgow, Edinburgh or Newcastle office 1-2 days per week for this position.

We're looking for a Data Governance Lead to join our Insurance Money and Services team.

What you'll be doing
  • Act as the primary expert for all Data Governance matters at IMS, including advancing and enforcing the framework, policy, and standards.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Data Governance concepts such as data quality, definitions, ownership, and retention.
  • Oversee the Data Governance policy roll out across the business improving its maturity and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage data-related risks through effective governance and control measures.
  • Lead the development of centralised Data Governance activity including the development and implementation of quality, lineage, and retention assets.
  • Work closely with data owners, stewards, and custodians to educate and support them in understanding their roles and responsibilities.

We need you to have
  • Experience of Data Governance policies, standards, and control implementation
  • Experience of Data Quality tooling
  • Team leading experience
  • Demonstrate SQL, Excel, PowerBI and insight skills.

And if you have any of these, even better
  • Financial services experience
  • DAMA or EDM Council or similar Data Governance qualifications

Role Alignment

Following the announcement regarding Tesco's strategic partnership with Barclays, this role will support our Insurance and Money Services team and will remain with Tesco.

Expected start date for this opportunity will be October/November 2024.


Interviews are expected to be held from w/c 10 th June.
