We're looking for a

Compliance Manager (Advisory)

Based in London reporting to the Head of Compliance, Global Specialty, this role will sit within our international Compliance team, supporting the culture of compliance and good governance across a range of Hamilton group companies.

The role holder will be well-organised and proactive, using their knowledge, experience and skills to provide timely, top-quality compliance advice to a range of business stakeholders and to the firms' governing bodies. In doing so, the capability to 'see the big picture beyond the task at hand', as well as a strong detail orientation, will be crucial to success.

What you will do

  • Provision of regulatory advice across a range of subject areas, based on relevant jurisdictional regulatory requirements and Hamilton group policy
  • Horizon Scanning
  • Compliance training (mandatory and ad hoc / bespoke)
  • Responding to referrals, questions and information requests from business stakeholders (ensuring timely, detailed and accurate responses)
  • Business Timetable management (regulatory reporting)
  • Preparation of Regulatory returns (as assigned to Compliance)
  • Workflow management (Advisory) and preparation of status reports
  • Assist with the preparatory work in the event of regulatory inspections and information requests
  • Assist with the drafting of annual Compliance Plan and departmental procedures
  • Assist the Head of Compliance with the implementation of the Compliance Plan and the management of the Compliance function

What you require for the role

  • A strong working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (preferably Lloyd's, FCA, PRA, CBI ad BMA)
  • Proven experience in a Managing Agent or general insurer
  • A thorough understanding of the Compliance Advisory role (purpose and practice)
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Well-developed report writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to think critically, identify and analyse problems, and develop effective solutions
  • Proven track record of delivering assignments on time and to the required standard
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and improve processes
  • Technical expertise & capabilities within your field
