We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Risk Manager - First Direct.

In this role, you will:

• Operate effective risk oversight for designated parts of the first direct business, by engaging with key stakeholders and supporting the business with timely and accurate identification, measurement, management and reporting of its risks.
• Attend risk governance fora, providing verbal and written contributions to oversight meetings and deputising, where necessary, for the Head of Risk.
• Provide risk advisory support to the business, to ensure the requirements of the Risk Management Framework are adhered to during BAU and project activities.
• Derive and support regular risk reporting to First Direct's Risk Management and Oversight Committee.
• Challenge and support the First Direct Risk team to continually improve.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• A relevant risk qualification from a recognised industry body, such as (but not limited to) IRM, GARP, ICA, IIA would be an asset;
• Recent experience of working within the Second or Third Line of Defence within a financial services firm at Senior Manager level;
• Practical experience of operating risk management frameworks to provide effective risk oversight;
• Risk Subject Matter Expertise (experience of operational resilience and technology risks a distinct advantage) with an ability to apply broad risk management principles to all risk categories

The base location for this role is Leeds.
