  • Intellectual Property Rights: understanding, overseeing and advising on complex IPR rights across different technologies
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the integration of corporate compliance controls into the Sizewell C project, and supporting compliance with managing public money guidelines.
  • Accurate and timely production of management information for relevant governance committees, the executive and key stakeholders
  • Ensuring inputs into stakeholder KYC processes are undertaken in a timely, consistent and professional manner, as well as ensuring ongoing monitoring and remediation as appropriate
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for compliance issues and delivering compliance presentations and training sessions to educate internal stakeholders on compliance issues and promote awareness across the business
  • Ownership of the compliance monitoring programme, for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance measures, policies, and procedures
  • Lead and motivate Sizewell C across all corporate compliance arrangements, ensuring appropriate training, frameworks and tools, processes and procedures are in place to provide a high-quality compliance service
  • Responsible for the regulatory change horizon scanning framework for corporate compliance, ensuring that all applicable regulatory change is pro-actively identified and reported to relevant stakeholders in a clear and consistent manner. Providing regular updates to the Legal team on relevant issues or trends

Knowledge & Experience:

The post holder should have excellent working knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Significant experience in compliance, with experience in a lead compliance role likely to be from within investment services, consultancy, pharmaceuticals, trade, or private banking (all relevant experience will be considered)

  • Thorough understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements, including UKBA and FCPA
  • Knowledge of ISO37001, anti-bribery management systems, desirable
  • Proven ability to develop professional relationships and to influence colleagues at executive and Board committee level, highly developed communication skills to motivate, inspire and persuade internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organised with experience or being part of a highly functioning team where you are comfortable taking responsibility for outputs
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to analyse and interpret information quickly
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to be methodical and diligent
  • Excellent communication skills

Skills

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation - but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We're not just building new nuclear power stations. We're developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there's always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it's also an industry which is changing.

We're a responsible business and proud to be Britain's biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
