We are seeking a Senior Governance Manager with a passion for delivering high quality professional governance services and continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who has experience in governance and an interest in broadening their understanding of the higher education sector generally.
What can you expect? A friendly and supportive team working in a fast paced and professional environment who are committed to driving ever increasing standards in the delivery of governance services. Our team shares a passion for governance, but what helps us succeed are the different ideas and experiences of our people, who come from a mix of cultures and backgrounds.
You will manage and deliver the provision of a high-quality professional secretariat support to the University's senior committees.
What are we looking for? You will be a positive team player who will work closely with their peer to manage and deliver the provision of high-quality professional secretariat support. You will be an experienced manager who is able to support the development of their reports through setting clear direction and expectations and empowering staff to achieve them. You will be able to demonstrate proven negotiating skills with the ability to be diplomatic yet firm as the situation requires. You will, of course, have extensive knowledge of governance principles and understanding of their application.
What if you don't meet every single requirement of the person specification? We would encourage you to apply anyway. Whilst it is likely that the successful candidate does have experience in a number of the required areas, your aptitude, motivation and delivery focus are just as important as your current skill set. We know that a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace is not only a better place to work but also produces higher quality solutions and delivers better service. We also know that some groups of people are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the person specification. Whoever you are, if this job interests you, we encourage you to apply.
The post is offered on a permanent, full-time contract (36.25 hours per week). Arrangements for job share may be considered.
At the University of Nottingham, we are committed to providing generous employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a University employee, you will have an excellent choice of benefits and rewards, including access to fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with 30 days' holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.
Interviews will take place within the first two weeks of September.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Sarah Troy-Brown, email Sarah.Troy-Brown@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
