About the role:
We have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Fleet Team within Powys County Council. The position is ideally suited to someone with an automotive / HGV background who can engage with teams across the organisation and continue to raise the bar with vehicle compliance. Powys County Council is pleased to have been the first Local Authority within Wales to have achieved DVSA Earned Recognition status - this is just the beginning of our journey and we welcome applicants who will
share our vision of safer operations and vehicle compliance.
We're looking for a team player, but someone who also has the ability to work independently and prioritise their own workload. The position is varied but requires some flexibility to travel throughout the county.

What you will do:
- Provide professional support to council fleet compliance team to provide support to services
- Achieve and maintain DVSA Earned Recognition Status
- To ensure all internal/Hired vehicles are fit for purpose, insured, road worthy and legal.
- To have an effective presence at council depots, to ensure drivers and vehicles are compliant.
- Keeping abreast of all relevant legislation
- Assisting with compliance reports, and key performance indicators
