We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Assurance Specialist to join our team in Cheltenham & Hereford.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud projects.

This role requires a deep understanding of cloud security practices, regulatory requirements, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Assessments and Audits:
  • Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Evaluate security controls and processes, recommending improvements where necessary.

• Risk Management:
  • Perform risk assessments to identify, analyse, and prioritise security risks in cloud projects.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness.

• Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
  • Ensure cloud projects adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.

• Security Policies and Procedures:
  • Develop, review, and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines for cloud environments.
  • Ensure proper implementation and enforcement of security policies.

• Incident Response and Management:
  • Lead the investigation and response to security incidents in cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and conduct regular drills and training.

• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle of cloud projects.
  • Provide security training and awareness programs for employees and stakeholders.

• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with emerging cloud security technologies, threats, and trends.
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance the security posture of cloud environments.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on cloud security.

• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security features.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).

• Certifications and clearance:
  • Relevant certifications
  • DV

• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact with customer security team and process

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of container security and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform).

Working Conditions:

• This role may require occasional travel.
• Location based in Cheltenham.
• 2 days in Cheltenham/2 days in Hereford/1 day WFH
• 12 month contract
