We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Assurance Specialist to join our team in Cheltenham & Hereford.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud projects.
This role requires a deep understanding of cloud security practices, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Assessments and Audits:
- Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Evaluate security controls and processes, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Risk Management:
- Perform risk assessments to identify, analyse, and prioritise security risks in cloud projects.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
- Ensure cloud projects adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Security Policies and Procedures:
- Develop, review, and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines for cloud environments.
- Ensure proper implementation and enforcement of security policies.
- Incident Response and Management:
- Lead the investigation and response to security incidents in cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and conduct regular drills and training.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle of cloud projects.
- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with emerging cloud security technologies, threats, and trends.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance the security posture of cloud environments.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on cloud security.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security features.
- Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
- Certifications and clearance:
- Relevant certifications
- DV
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to interact with customer security team and process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of container security and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform).
Working Conditions:
- This role may require occasional travel.
- Location based in Cheltenham.
- 2 days in Cheltenham/2 days in Hereford/1 day WFH
- 12 month contract
