JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a visionary and strategic CIO to lead the H&W strategic roadmap and implementation across the operating companies. The CIO is ultimately responsible for delivery of a best in class, fit for purpose, tech platform, which is a key enabler to H&W reaching its full potential. They are also responsible for leading the UniOps partnership and ownership of cybersecurity for H&W.
The CIO will be responsible for aligning technology solutions with business objectives, managing relationships with stakeholders and third-party vendors, and managing and central and local team to execute the strategy.
This role requires a forward-thinking leader who will be relied upon as the leading, trusted technology voice in the H&W platform, working closely with the group CFO and other leaders to ensure the needs of the business and the division are realised.

Location
In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in early 2025 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a visionary and strategic CIO to lead the H&W strategic roadmap and implementation across the operating companies. The CIO is ultimately responsible for delivery of a best in class, fit for purpose, tech platform, which is a key enabler to H&W reaching its full potential. They are also responsible for leading the UniOps partnership and ownership of cybersecurity for H&W.
The CIO will be responsible for aligning technology solutions with business objectives, managing relationships with stakeholders and third-party vendors, and managing and central and local team to execute the strategy.
This role requires a forward-thinking leader who will be relied upon as the leading, trusted technology voice in the H&W platform, working closely with the group CFO and other leaders to ensure the needs of the business and the division are realised.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business goals including the selection, implementation and integration of best-in-class technology solutions.
- Design the technology roadmap for implementation of the tech strategy and ongoing support.
- Own total H&W tech and act as the ultimate decision maker, managing central and business vertical teams, D&A and Cyber.
- Partner H&W leadership (CEOs, CFO and board) for all group tech needs.
- Partner H&W ComEx Director, H&W Global Programs & Transformation Director, and H&W Group Controller.
- Successfully manage relationships with operating companies, UniOps and tech 3P to ensure H&W needs are met.
- Develop and manage the central tech budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and the right balance of investment to fuel business growth and ROI.
- Inspire, develop, lead to bring the best out from the central and local technology and data teams (7 direct report FTE) in line with H&W performance culture.
- Bring a strong external perspective of the best technology, including latest tech trends.
- Develop play book to support future acquisitions and integrating into operating model.
TOP OKRs
- Lead Nutrafol remediation and tech transition plan, including move off QuickBooks by May 2025, implement financial controls and prepare for D365 implementation.
- Support CIO 2 with LIV value drives namely Project Maverick (LIV insource manufacturing) and Emerson transition (insource order to cash and build direct relationship with key accounts).
- Accelerate cybersec to a minimum 2.5 to 3/ 5 (acceptable risk to Unilever)
- Evolve tech org and operating model including bringing in the platform team into H&W for greater impact and trust. Lead and inspire the central and local technology and data teams.
- Innovate and set the next 18-month tech roadmap for H&W, extending the platform beyond D365. Includes PLM, TPM and MDM, among others.
ALL ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Data, Finance, or related field.
- Years of relevant experience in technology field, with increasing strategic responsibility.
- A strong technology leader, able to set a clear vision and drive multiple parties towards execution of the common goal aligned to business objectives.
- Strategic thinker, able to understand business process and requirements and align the technology to meet this. Able to propose solutions to complex business problems and make decisions.
- Ability to flex between unique needs of H&W operating companies, but also an awareness of how to shape the technology platform for future scale.
- Strong external focus, with a good understanding of breaking tech trends and their application for H&W.
- Strong business and financial acumen, able to act as a business operator.
- Ability to work with multiple tech vendors, sniff out danger and hold them to account. Experience in vendor management and negotiation.
- Strong communication skills, able to consolidate, document and present research findings, often from multiple sources, in short, concise, actionable, compelling stories to large audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, able to act independently and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of IT governance, risk management and compliance.
- Self-starting and ability to make significant progress quickly whilst maintaining strong communications.
- Excellent people, leadership, and team management skills.
- Experience working in, or closely with: Global initiatives, Unilever platforms, NA market, working in or thinking like a start-up.
