The Cyber Security and Identity team is uniquely placed to advise, support, and defend the University against security threats targeting our staff, students, and our research work. The team aims to protect and educate staff and students and ensure that security by design is implemented within all applicable laws and regulations.
The role of the Cyber Security Compliance Officer is integral to protecting UAL's vital information assets by ensuring adherence to industry regulations. This position involves actively monitoring UAL's compliance with cybersecurity and privacy laws, as well as evaluating the risks associated with integrating new technologies into UAL's business strategies. Additionally, you will provide support during incident response procedures and work closely with auditors and regulators to enhance cybersecurity measures.

Experience
- Proven experience of Project Management, successfully managing and delivering initiatives on time and within scope
- Experience in Cybersecurity Risk Management Frameworks, models and knowledge of relevant Risk Management tools.
- Experience of planning and conducting internal audits in cybersecurity and data protection
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance frameworks, and regulations
- Knowledge of cybersecurity auditing based on relevant cybersecurity and regulatory frameworks and models.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide, mentor and influence others, both within the team and across the wider university to advocate for security best practices
