Role: Information Assurance Governance Analyst (Data Protection)

Salary: £41,278 - £48,593 per annum.
Pension: 28.97% - Alongside your salary, Student Loans Company (SLC) contributes £11,958 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
SLC offers a blended working model, which will typically be 2 days working in an SLC office and 3 days working from home.

SLC have an exciting opportunity for an Information Assurance Governance Analyst to join our Information Governance and Compliance Team with the wider Assurance Services Department. In this role, you will apply policy and your knowledge/experience across a number of well established and emerging areas, principally focused on data protection. This is a key role in which you will consistently and pragmatically assess and advise on issues and risks and support SLC's various regular and ad-hoc compliance monitoring and reporting activities and information education requirements.
Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and/or UK GDPR is essential for this role.
What you bring:
• Degree-level or equivalent industry/government experience required
• Specialist knowledge of data protection compliance and regulatory requirements, and an understanding of risk management principles
• Ability to liaise with relevant business areas to support incident case management, escalated complaints and non-compliance with requirements.
• Strong critical thinking skills to handle complex situations and escalate issues appropriately
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
• Contribute to data protection policies, training, monitoring, reporting and awareness activities across the organisation
