Overview

As a Security Operations analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of cloud-based systems. Your expertise will be essential in safeguarding digital assets, managing risks, and implementing robust security controls. Responsibilities

  • Develop Approach to Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct security assessments for
    FedRAMP-approved cloud service providers. Ensure compliance with security standards and controls.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Offer insights on moving systems to the cloud, assess potential security risks, and recommend necessary security measures.
  • Perform Security Design Reviews: Evaluate the security implications of introducing new technologies within the cloud environment.
  • Influence Security Best Practices: Work closely with engineering teams to promote adherence to security policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Consult with Partner Teams: Collaborate with IT, security operations, corporate governance, and product development teams on deep technical security and risk considerations.
  • Create Security Automation: Utilize AWS services (such as Lambda) to automate security processes.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related fields1.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications, including
    AWS,
    CISSP,
    CCSP,
    CISA,
    CISM.
Experience: Proven work experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or similar role in information security. Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges.
Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security event analysis2.

Desired Skills

  • Cloud Security Expertise: Understanding cloud architecture, cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and security controls within cloud environments.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks through regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Automation: Proficiency in automating security tasks to ensure elasticity and efficiency across cloud platforms.
  • Encryption and Authentication: Knowledge of encryption techniques and industry-standard authentication mechanisms.
  • Cloud Networking: Familiarity with cloud networking architecture and best practices.
  • Cybersecurity Concepts: Stay updated on emerging threats and trends in cloud security3.
Additional Experience (Desirable)

  • Product Security Ownership: Work as a product owner for security features.
  • Privacy and Compliance: Collaborate with program teams to capture design inputs for product security and privacy.
  • Security Architecture Design: Create cloud security architectures and strategies.
  • Experience in Security, Compliance, and Risk Management
