The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud security solutions to protect PayRetailer's cloud applications and data. The role involves ensuring that all cloud-based systems and applications are secure, compliant with industry standards, and resilient against evolving cyber threats. The Cloud Security Engineer will collaborate with various teams to integrate security best practices throughout the cloud development lifecycle, continuously monitor cloud environments, and respond to security incidents as they arise.

The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud security solutions to protect PayRetailer's cloud applications and data. The role involves ensuring that all cloud-based systems and applications are secure, compliant with industry standards, and resilient against evolving cyber threats. The Cloud Security Engineer will collaborate with various teams to integrate security best practices throughout the cloud development lifecycle, continuously monitor cloud environments, and respond to security incidents as they arise.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deploy and manage data and cloud applications security controls, such as cloud access security broker (CASB), data loss prevention (DLP) and encryption.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for cloud-based systems and applications.
- Continuously monitor cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized activities.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents (Tier3), conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Utilize security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect, analyze, and mitigate security incidents.
- Work closely with development, operations, and compliance teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the cloud lifecycle.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud security best practices.
- Assist in cloud security audits, assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Stay current with the latest cloud security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Propose and implement improvements to existing cloud security practices, tools, and frameworks.
- Participate in security training and awareness programs for internal teams.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud security configurations, processes, and incident response activities.
- Generate regular reports on cloud security posture, incidents, and compliance status for management and stakeholders.
Experience and knowledge:
- 3+ years of experience in cloud security engineering or a related role.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their security features.
- Proficiency in cloud security tools and technologies, including IAM, encryption, SIEM, CASB, DLP.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and PCI-DSS.
- Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize security risks and vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
- Strong analytical skills for investigating security incidents and conducting root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate security issues and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, with a collaborative and consultative approach.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Nice to have experience and qualifications:
- Experience in a multi-cloud environment
- Experience with Microsoft Security Solutions is a plus (Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender for CloudApps, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender)
- Microsoft or security related certification
- Experience in Fintech, banking or financial services
