Level 3 Security Engineer
Location: Staines or Manchester (Hybrid Working)
Permanent Contract
Salary range: up to £65,000 (Neg) depending on exp.
Role specific benefits: 10% Management Scheme Bonus
Full time, 37.5 scheduled weekly hours

As a Level 3 Security Engineer the successful candidate is tasked with shaping, implementing, and upholding Bupa's enterprise security framework and its related measures. The role involves ensuring the functionality of the tools and systems utilised by Bupa Security Operations and the organisation at large. As a member of the Security Engineering team, responsibilities include the upkeep of security measures and protocols, overseeing the performance of monitoring and reporting devices, and enhancing security strategies, guidelines, and rule sets. Additionally, the role requires the provision of documented proof of enhancements made.

How you'll help us make health happen:
- Assume accountability for the allocated tools and services.
- Craft playbooks, policies, and custom rulesets, and perform tool tuning and whitelisting to enhance security maturity.
- Contribute to the formulation of strategies for responding to and recovering from security incidents and breaches.
- Conduct tests on security controls to verify their effectiveness within the expected detection parameters and manage successful implementation of upgrades.
- Address and resolve intricate and urgent security incidents.
- Generate and update documentation for existing and prospective security controls and services.
- Execute system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and policies for all security mechanisms.
- Support the creation and refinement of security solutions and services.
- Collaborate on the establishment and design standards for security solutions that align with business security requirements.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- The ideal candidate should possess a diverse IT background, with substantial experience in both BAU support and project-based environments, across disciplines such as End-User Computing, Hosting, and Networks.
- Proficiency in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) is highly beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy is essential.
- Must be skilled in network troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Should have experience with Security Monitoring and Vulnerability Management tools.
- Familiarity with intrusion techniques at the perimeter and host level is required.
- Demonstrated capability to devise practical product solutions in line with the strategic goals of the Security Operations team.
