Job Title: Contract Professional

Location: London, Ipswich or Cheltenham

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

Why this job matters:

You will manage the contractual risk, obligations & P&L for a specific area of our specialist business unit. You will ensure we meet the promises we make to our customers, that the contract remains sustainable for us as a business but also valuable to the customer over the long-term. This will include contract growth, negotiation and renewal. You will be the point of contact for all contractual and commercial topics within your parameter.

What you'll do:
  • Deal with customers face to face on all contractual matters.
  • Lead a cross-functional team ensuring all aspects of a contract are addressed and managed.
  • Ensures successful delivery of contract commitments within cost targets, contract profit and revenue growth.
  • Accountable for delivering against contractual service level agreements.
  • Be responsible for the risk and obligation management of the contract and ensure compliance to business governance.
  • Be accountable for growth on existing contracts through change control, whilst able to identify new sales opportunities to pursue with the relevant teams.
  • Provides information to inform negotiations during in life management of a contract.
  • Communicate the status of contracts to senior managers and other stakeholders across the business.
  • Monitoring and evaluating contract performance metrics to identify areas for improvement across the contract, team and wider business.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market insights and emerging best practices in contract management.
  • Learn about our capabilities and portfolio.
What you'll bring:
  • Be self-motivated and proactive.

  • Use your initiative and be comfortable working with changing requirements.
  • Have experience in contract management, project management or bid management.
  • Be commercially aware.
  • Have a high attention to detail.

  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office programmes such as Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Desired Experience:
  • Possess a recognised formal qualification in Contract or Project Management.
  • Have experience of mentoring, coaching or managing a direct team.
  • Have experience of continuous improvement or transformation projects.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels ). The role is subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn or may cause a role change or possibly lead to termination of employment.
